April's Motivating Mom of the Month Hi. My name is Amanda Williams and I am mom to Ridley who will be 2 years old in April. Ridley and I have been coming to Saturday Stroller strides since he was about 12 weeks old. I love to start my Saturday morning out with a great group of moms and get myself moving for the day. I started my fitness journey with Fit4Mom after I saw a friend tagged in a photo on Facebook. I was sad about going back to work and was looking for something to do with Ridley on the weekends. Stroller Strides was perfect! I was so happy to not have to take time away from my baby to get some exercise. Ridley is an IVF baby and it took many years where I was on and off hormones to get our miracle baby. This cycle of hormones brought me into my pregnancy at my highest weight ever and then came the pregnancy pounds. Finding the time to get in exercise is hard. I am an Accountant and I sit at a desk for at least 45 hours a week (I have one of the good work-life balance time of accounting jobs.... some work much more than I do). I have a long way to go to get back to where I want to be, but Fit4Mom is helping me get there. I am taking it slow, but I feel stronger than I did when I started and proud of myself for getting out of the house early every Saturday that we can make it to class. As a working mom, my goal is to spend as much time with Ridley as I can at night and on the weekends. Going to Stroller Strides allows me achieve that goal while still doing something for myself. My advice to other moms is just to get out the door. Even if you are tired and know you will struggle through the whole hour, you will feel good about being there and will be proud of yourself every time.
